Phil Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 This is my update to the: Moving your way thread. As it turned out, we did not sell our house, so I never got to move until a little over a month ago. I now live in Pottstown. Nevertheless, I did manage to average 1 day a week at Bear Creek this year. It was said that Roundtop (my old home area) skis/boards bigger than BC. I found that to be true, but the meandering trails at BC made it feel a little bigger than it really is. Of course, those same meandering trails can be tough in slow conditions. I enjoyed Sasquatch a lot. Even though it is short, it is a blast to ride. It is pretty wild that you have to take two lifts to get to it every time. I expect that at a big resort, but that is new to me for a small resort. A lot of people complained about the pipe, but one week when I was there it was pretty sweet. At least two other weeks that I was there, it was good enough to be ridden. I think that it was better than Roundtop's - they really seemed to struggle with theirs this year. I don't even feel like I need to comment on the parks. Overall, they were so much better than I could have expected! That was another thing that Roundtop struggled with this year, so it was a breath of fresh air to come to BC once a week and get some quality park action. Lastly the people were pretty cool. There did not seem to be a bad vibe or anything. After my "moving your way" post got shut down, I thought that BC might have a bad vibe or something. I was pleasantly surprised. So now I am here. I am currently looking for places to do urban/freeride/DJ around Pottstown, but it seems that I may have to drive a little bit to find that. I heard that they were getting a skate park? Anyone know anything about that? I am already itching to get back out on snow. I will most likely be at BC 6 days a week this year, so if anyone wants someone to ride with, let me know. -Phil- Quote
Bobert540 Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Hey Phil Will you be the head instructor for the freestyle program again? With the new improvements and all I hope we get more people interested in the program. I think we had a decent start for the season we had. Hope all is well. There is some good freeride in bethlehem and also there are some good dirtjumps right outside of bethlehem. If you need info lemme know or ask Boyer on here. I am sure he would be happy to show you around -Bob Quote

Phil Posted August 8, 2007 Author Report Posted August 8, 2007 Bob, I PM'ed you about the FS coaching. Oakley21, I'd tell you how old I am, but then I would have to kill you. . I am almost twice your age, if that helps. I have been riding since well before you were born and I still am not nearly as good as I would like to be. Quote
