A ptex gun is probably not nessisary, I assume you are only doing your stuff, and don't want to spend 100 bucks on one. My dad got this little iron thingy, its about the size of a hmmm it is about the size of a pencil earser, and heats up much warmer than a candle can, and it is much better to use, and less messy. But I am not sure where he got it. (it was about $20).

I believe what you're describing is a soldering iron. They can get very hot, and burn right on through your base, so be careful!

I have a couple of broken soldering irons that wont get hot enough to be used for soldering anymore. If you want those, I wouldn't mind parting with them. They do warm up however, they are probably worth a shot, and after all, they would be free!

I was there to day and I got some.  They only had a few small shelves with stuff to tune your own equipment.  I suppose that they want you to pay them to do it for you.

 

Hmm.... The bastards lied to me. Oh well, I got it for free from Mark up at CB's shop anyway, so it's all good.
