Smittysprize
............but Camelback is okay in my book! My son just got an email today from the folks in the rental shop. Not only does he get his own Sunday thru Friday season pass card, my family has the oportuntiy to get one too. For the incredible price of $50.00 each!! And the pass includes ski rentals and lessons if we want! What a great deal! What a family friendly attitude! Put your siblings to work boys....And next year ride for free!!! Timeless
That's very cool 4 more weeks and we'll be charging down 'Tut's
Smittysprize
That's very cool 4 more weeks and we'll be charging down 'Tut's Well I am not too sure of that. They are not having rental shop training until December 1st and there is a big customer service meeting that day. So I doubt it will be 4 weeks. Maybe closer to 5 though!! Timeless
Goddamnit Timeless Doesn't matter what you say regarding CB, they will open when they are ready (commercially) so there's no "jinxing" to worry about. Last year (and every other year) we all had this "when will they blow" thing going on, but I've just come to realise that CB will be ready when they are ready and that may not be until Christmas. I'm looking elsewhere for first turns of the year and my CB season pass is just a money saver on the tickets that I would buy simply because they are close. Expect less, it's the only way they wont disappoint.
snorovr
Hmm thats kinda cool. Most mountains only offer season pass discounts to spouse or children. Blue's is only twenty bucks for a no limits season pass for your spouse or children, but I always wanted to get one for my dad or my little brother and couldn't. Rob in NJ
So does anyone know what CB's plans are to start blowing and open up for the year? Obviously weather dictates, but any projections?
skier89
Camelback usually opens about a week late than Blue mountain due to their higher elevation and more northerly location.. ha ha

Rob in NJ
According to Accuweather, temps will drop below 30 starting next Wednesday, so maybe they'll start blowing snow.
Rob in NJ
Is Craig from Camelback on here for the straight info??? Good question. When I wrote Craig a while ago to ask about the old ridecamelback board, he said he would be contributing to PASR...So Craig, what's the scoop on blowing snow and projected opening day? iceman_4432
Well night temps from now thru Monday are supposed to be below freezing as a low. Hopefully this trend (colder then normal) will continue ! Also, look at next thursday, Friday, sAturday .. they are predicting snow at night. Thats different then in years past. Ski
yeah he's the person who started this thread. haha j/k I think the CB reps will be waiting for newbs (the possible $) to start showing up closer to Thanksgiving (or after) before chancing anymore abuse. SkiCamelback
When will Camelback start to make snow? The short term forecasts are calling for average temperatures for the month of November. For instance, the Thanksgiving Day averages for Tannersville, PA, are an average High of 48 and an average Low of 29. Early season is a hard bet for snowmaking
Timeless
I wont be rushing up to pick up my season pass then.... Might have to spend a few days at JFBB or trekking up north before the guns fire up. Looking forward to some great conditions in late December, hopefully the weather will be much kinder than last year.
Ski
In the mean time, please remember to get bindings checked, leashes repaired and boards tuned. Keep working out and getting exercise. Nothing is a bigger bummer than getting hurt during the early season because of having broken gear and out of condition legs, knees and the rest of the body! That's funny.
