Rob in NJ Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Now that the snow making question has been answered, the next one in line to ponder is 'When is opening day?' Gotta give Camelback credit for starting to make snow! Quote
zaldon Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 well since it is camelback i think well see them blow out the mice tonight maybe all weekend than wait a week to see the temps rise then wait agian until the real blowing begins in mid december just in time to have west side open for full price christmas tickets even though only half the mountian will be open till 2nd week in jan... switched Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 My guess is December 15th so they're ready for the Holiday crowds since Camelback has no intent in pleasing the passholders.. november 16 ,7:27pm Quote
rgrwilco Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) lights are on. whether or not its blowing out the mice, i always like checking web cams and watching them blow some snow even if it is camelback, so effing what mang it means its coming. might not just be the mice...theres a nice big fan gun chilling right in front of the cam at the base. who knows. snowboarder12345 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 there blowing snow right now Quote
zaldon Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 no their not going to blow tonight its 31 degrees and supposed to be getting warmer as the night goes on not to mention fact that the humidity is 68% so it realy needs to be like 27 or 28 degrees to blow snow. Quote
Papasteeze Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 no their not going to blow tonight its 31 degrees and supposed to be getting warmer as the night goes on not to mention fact that the humidity is 68% so it realy needs to be like 27 or 28 degrees to blow snow. omg the hype is amazing. CB called in Channel 10 to talk about them blowing snow and then go on to say that they aren't opening until the first or second week of December. Quote

ski911 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 One of the things CB will not do is open a trail with a little coverage just to say "we are open!" It doesn't make sense to do it just to please the few peeps that are on here. They will make sure they have good coverage on a few trails (a better assortment this year) and take advantage of doing it right as opposed to just doing it. Remember, CB has to put alot more snow down because of the size and shape of the base and top areas just to get people to and from the lifts. The amount of snow we need in the base area would almost completely cover BB or BC. Quote
zaldon Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Ummmm sorry, your wrong. im sorry im still missing the part where they have snow on the ground. tannserville never went below 33 degress and humidity kept on climbing through the night.i went on camelbacks website and the webcam is conveniently turned away from where they were "blowing snow",and their were no pictures of the snow.
