skibum2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 anyone been up there lately? hows it looking? It's looking good- They are blowing as much as they can. Pretty much most of the mountain except for runaway, fast track, easy street and the lower part of mainline. Cannonball and smoke look good Quote
Matt80 Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 are they gunna have any rails or anything like that set up on the 8th? Quote
skibum2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 are they gunna have any rails or anything like that set up on the 8th? I'm not 100% sure about that but I know the park crew from Planet is there Quote
Ski Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 anyone been up there lately? hows it looking? All their attention is on the NF tonight...it's pretty awesome looking from 81. Quote
bigdaddyk Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 I picked my pass up tonight and I didn't see any guns on. Are they only blowing at night? Quote
riderossi Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 sounding like 10am-6pm, what are you hearing skibum? Quote
Ski Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 I picked my pass up tonight and I didn't see any guns on. Are they only blowing at night? The NF guns were on at 10pm when I came through. And maybe around the lodge and up Mainline. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Blue Mountain, The True Mountain opens tomorrow, if anyone is interested. Quote

xNick11 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 What runs is Sno planning to open with?It looks like they will have Spike and Spur open, and then probably something on the Northface? Quote
skibum2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 It looks like they will have Spike and Spur open, and then probably something on the Northface? Their plans if all goes well in the next two days is: Upper mainline above the construction area Possibly Highball Spike Spur Whistler Cannonball and maybe, just maybe boomer and/or smoke Dont hold me to this just what I heard from snowmaking/Grooming Quote
Ski Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 It looks like they will have Spike and Spur open, and then probably something on the Northface? I'd guess Cannonball because it connects to the upper slopes. Maybe Smoke because they have so many tower guns on it. And it looked like they were hitting Boomer. Quote
ski14 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 How is sno not opening with more? They have the best snow making in PA, and the temps have been there. The base area looks terrbile, theres grass everywhere- The mountain is a mess Quote
riderossi Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 they were operating on 5 pumps instead of 6 from what i hear because one was broken...but that's no excuse, obviously. Quote
Ski Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 How is sno not opening with more? They have the best snow making in PA, and the temps have been there. The base area looks terrbile, theres grass everywhere- The mountain is a mess Are you going to ask for your money back? Quote
Ski Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 (edited) for my season pass? Yeah, it sounds like you're really disappointed with what is currently covered. I wasn't judging or saying you should feel one way or another. I was just curious. I guess I'm just used to year after year of them opening with Mainline only and spending the first week dodging rocks and gapers in jeans. BTW, 14, I'm just kinda saying I'm pretty relaxed about what's going on. I got so used to the old mess---and still loved skiing it---that I'm just waiting to see what the end result is. bigdaddyk Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 They might be going for deeper, edge to edge coverage, which would limit blowing on other trails. I know I would rather have better coverage and fewer trails open, than thinner coverage and more trails. Quote
skibum2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 (edited) sounding like 10am-6pm, what are you hearing skibum? Sorry for the late reply I missed your post (I wasn't blowing you off) Its a mixed answer we are getting, the mountain says to have all staff there for an 8 am opening. The good thing is its opening on a saturday and there will be a large ski patrol staffing that can get everything into place. They dont let the patrollers on the hill till opening day. I say 8am but mgmt has said opening between 8 and 10am for opening times but will remain open till 10pm Edited December 7, 2007 by skibum2007 Quote
