Boulder Park Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 twsnow.com has just posted a little video of opening day go check it TransWorld Snowboarding -Ian- Quote
Matt80 Posted November 26, 2007 Author Report Posted November 26, 2007 wow, my bad, um i meant this one http://www.transworldsnowboarding.com/snow...1686996,00.html Quote
method9455 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Getting the word out, too bad there where 10 videos that other people made that where better, but some exposure is better than none. Someone needs to keep a running list tying all the youtube and vimeo clips, by the end of the year there will be 50 i'm sure. Quote

Papasteeze Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 (edited) twsnow.com has just posted a little video of opening day go check it TransWorld Snowboarding -Ian- Are you serious? those comments make the video look like no one likes it. searching for words. But yeah, is getting a video posted on that site an achievment? because based on the comments, I don't think it does Boulder any favors. Is there a way to see how many views it has had? Here is a more positively commented video from Open Day from the Roundtop Riders. http://newschoolers.com/web/content/videos/id/157059/ Edited November 26, 2007 by Papasteeze Quote

Uh, it doesn't hurt boulder. They are mostly ripping on the the style of the riders and the camera work. That video could have been made at ANY mountain and it would have been ripped. Plus TW is notorious for ripping on stuff, even really solid videos. Just a guess but TW gets obscene amounts of traffic. They only put on 2 or 3 videos a week. I check the site semi-regularly and have NEVER seen a teaser or shorty before 50+ comments have been made. Even if the video sucks, it gets the word out they are open and have jibs. That can't be a bad thing for boulder can it? Quote

I don't follow trans, interesting dynamic, different than what I am used to. Second thought. If TWS only puts a couple of videos up a week, certainly they would have an idea of how it would be commented on. So they put it up knowingly that it would get ripped for the riders and camera work. Schibbs, submit your work! Quote
librider Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I don't follow trans, interesting dynamic, different than what I am used to. You kidding me? Everything gets ripped apart on NS. Quote

All videos meet a certain level of quality. No awful filming or editing, but some, like this could be much better. Considering this is an opening day edit, they likely got lots of slack on riding quality, filming and editing. There are some other openers that would have been questionable otherwise. Also it's a snowboarding website and skiers aren't really represented at all (or 1 or 2 shots per shorty) in the videos. Quote
Papasteeze Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 You kidding me? Everything gets ripped apart on NS. no.. those comments are distinctly different. Then again, hahahahahaha interesting test. I don't know any emo dressed skiers, although it would be funny if i did wide angle low down shot into the sun and see what happens on NS . Quote
method9455 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I didn't see the comments on the video as any worse than normal. People go onto TWSnow to be dicks solely to be dicks. Find a video that doesn't have almost universal negative comments, it is probably a robot food clip from 4 years ago, I haven't seen anything in years that wasn't ripped apart by a bunch of 13 year old internet posers. They even joke about it in the magazine. But a LOT of people see it. Quote

On the flip side, for every 50 kids who put up a negative comment there are 50,000 who just check out the video and see Big Boulder Park represented on a major snowboarding media outlet. Quote
RightEmpire Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Schibbs, submit your work! I heard Schibbs is no more...can anyone confirm this? Quote
fluffy Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I heard Schibbs is no more...can anyone confirm this? Schibbs released a Boulder Edit not too long ago. I think he's still alive and kickin'. Quote
nick Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 If you check the boulder website i believe all the videos that are up there were done by schibbs. And im pretty sure that the past 3 times i have been at boulder filming with my crew that i have seen schibbs there filming as well. Im pretty sure he's not no more Quote
RightEmpire Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Yeah, I know hes been filming and is still coming out with edits but I heard from Schibbs team member that it is no more. I'm not sure what it means, trying to figure it out. Quote
