Glenn Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 (edited) Ok, a week back I went up to CB on a sat at 4. I have a sun-fri pass that is good all nights, which according to CB's website, pamphlets etc is 4pm to close every. Anyways, we were about to contact them, with a formal complaint, but I recieved this email. Hello, I got word of the problem you faced using your season pass on opening day, and I wanted to follow up. We goofed--the lift attendants should have allowed you to use your pass starting at 4 p.m., even though we weren't selling Night tickets that day. The verbage we use to describe the Sunday-Friday Plus Nights Pass says that they are valid "4 p.m. to close" every day, so that hour of operation should have been open to you. Tomorrow (Dec. 25) is probably the only remaining day where this could have been a problem for you, since night skiing begins on Sunday. But I wanted to let you know this, just in case you were planning on coming up for an hour on Christmas Day. The head of the Lifts department is aware that passes such as yours should be honored for that last hour on Saturdays when we're only open til 5pm. If you have any comments/suggestions/complaints down the road, I'd encourage you to stop by the Welcome Center so it can be documented and distributed (copies go to all department heads). Alternatively, just drop me an email. Anyway, I apologize for the trouble you experienced and just wanted to let you know that it should not happen again. Hope you have a great season! ---- Dave Johnson Camelback Ski Area Camelbeach Waterpark I guess its cool they followed up, but it still doens't do much to rememdy the situation for last week when I wasted an hours worth of time traveling and a half hour arguing with CB employees. Oh, well. I guess he had my aim sn and my email address from their message board, because he contacted me via both mediums Edited December 24, 2004 by dthmtluncrn Quote
ThinkSnow Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Did you post your complaint on their board or leave your name? or did he read your story here? Quote

I don't really participate in that OTHER board Quote

joeskier Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Its nice to see them admit they were wrong for once. however this problem should have never happened Quote
AtomicSkier Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Regardless of what people think DaveyJ is a really cool guy. It wouldn't surprise me that he did email you. But that is nice to hear from them, and to know what we make a difference Quote
skifreak Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Yeah daveyj is a cool guy unlike the other dave. Quote
Ski Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 So, uh, is CB comping you a lift ticket to share with a friend to make up for the hassle and wasted gas and time? Or is it "Oops, we goofed, it won't happen again until it happens again with some other new employee"? Quote

Or is it "Oops, we goofed, it won't happen again until it happens again with some other new employee"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, to my knowledge they aren't comping me, but my mom (who is the one who purchased the ticket is writing them to complain anyways). Thats what she is going for, I could really care less, as of right now they have lost my business for next year, as well as my friends at school, because we all ride together, possibly my siblings depending on what they do with my mom's complaint. This in and of itself isn't enough to make me switch to a different mountain, but its among a laundry list of items that CB could do better, and this year I've just had enough. So unless they do something to really impress me this year (which obviously isn't happening thus far) I'm going elsewhere next season. Quote
ThinkSnow Posted December 25, 2004 Report Posted December 25, 2004 I hear ya... the straw that broke this camel's back came last year... I'm a Blue man now Quote

Glenn Posted December 25, 2004 Author Report Posted December 25, 2004 Yeah, I'll probobly end up at blue next year as well, I'm gonna give shawnee and bb/jf a go this year, but I really think I will get bored just riding park. So, 90% sure I'll be purchasing my season pass at blue next year. Quote
Glenn Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 So after my mom snail mailed them and complained they sent me a comp ticket. Can't complain about, they did what they could to make up for their mistake. Quote
